Add another successful show to the list – International Quilt Festival, Long Beach ended Sunday and we are back on the road to Texas. We had a great time in Long Beach – wonderful customers, fantastic cool weather, and the chance to catch up with old friends. Dinner at CPK and Islands with Docia and Jim Fuller of The Quilt Merchant was a highlight.
Visiting with our great customers and hearing about their “Bonnie Blue” quilts is always a treat, but getting to see a finished project is always extra special. Check out the beautiful Amber Waves of Grain (Kaye England pattern) done in Bonnie Blue Basics and Backgrounds that Roxanne created for the Quilter’s Coop in Temecula, CA.
A special thank you to Robin for being our personal shopper.
We saw this great bag at the show and a quick email and photo and she was on her way to Trader Joe’s to get them for us. Isn’t it cool?
We left Monday AM for the trek back to Katy, but made a stop in Temecula to visit 2 quilt stores: Quilter’s Coop and Temecula Quilt Company. Great stores and great shopowners. It is still a surprise to see Bonnie Blue patterns hanging in other stores and to see what other people are doing with Paula’s fabric collections. Be sure to visit these stores if you are in the area.
Temecula Quilt Company is a featured shop in the Fall Quilt Sampler magazine. Paula and Sheryl are standing in front of the beautiful quilt that Sheryl designed using Bonnie Blue Basics and Backgrounds and Bonnie Blue Neutrals.
Phoenix was our goal for the end of the day. The drive through the mountains from Temecula to Palm Desert pulling a trailer was very interesting.
Here is a photo of our view as we all white knuckled-it down the mountain.
I don’t think Paula was the least bit upset to finally be done off that road.
Sonora, TX is our goal today and Katy,TX on Wednesday. Looking forward to home and family.
