The Warehouse is Open

First, let me thank everyone for your kind remarks and comments.  Everyone has been so positive and we truly appreciate that.  Our decision to change the business was something Paula and I thought (and agonized) about for a long time and it’s so nice to hear your great comments and kind words.  Many of you have asked which quilt shows we will be attending in 2011.  This was another tough decision.  We did quite well at a number of shows, but some of them are just so far away that the expenses (travel, hotel, food, etc.) just eat up the actual profits.  Our final decision – drum roll, please – Dallas Quilt Show (so close to home and we get to stay at Shirley’s – Paula’s mom), Quilt-A-Fair in Longmont, CO (love that scenery and the chance to sing “Rocky Mountain High”), Spring Quilt Market (Salt Lake City this year) and of course Fall Market and Festival in Houston.  We loved being at all of the shows and that is something we are really going to miss as we go forward.

Second, THE WAREHOUSE IS OPEN!!!!  For those of you in the area (and I know that most of you are not and I apologize for that), we will open the warehouse Friday (January 14th) and Saturday (January 15th) from 9:30-5:00.  All cut fabric will be $5.00/yard.  It will also be open next week – Monday through Friday (January 17-21) from 10:00-2:00 – with the same $5.00/yard for cut fabric.  Stop by and pick up those large pieces you need for backings – we have what you need. By the end of January, we will be moving out of our 2 warehouses and offices and will be back to working from a storage unit and our homes, so we need to sell the fabric that is currently in the warehouses.  We are keeping some fabric for our future kits, but the rest must go!!!!!  I have been very impressed with the online orders.  Many of you are ordering 1/2 yard cuts and building up your “collections” and we have been able to successfully complete the majority of your orders.  Our system does not provide available yardage, so it is harder for our online customers to know which fabrics have enough yardage for backings and we apologize for that.  I have also been impressed with those of you that have sent “personal shoppers” to warehouse sales.  They come armed with a list and sheer determination to find everything on that list!!

So, if you are in the area, stop by and visit us.  The selection is great and the prices are even better.  Please remember to dress warmly.  We may be in Texas, but we are currently having a bit of a cold snap and our warehouse is not heated.  If we get enough people in there, we should be able to raise that temperature with body heat!!!!  Gather up your friends, head to Richmond, shop the warehouse and we’ll recommend a great place for lunch.

Our address:  9720 Harlem Rd, Ste, Bo4, Richmond, TX.  We are in a Private Mini-Storage facility.

Until next time, happy quilting,

Mary Ellen

  1. Thanks so much ladies. I do not live in Texas but I did let my blog readers know about this amazing sale. I am participating in Barbara Brackman’s Civil War quilts and your online sale was very timely. Will miss you at the quilt shows like Paducah. But maybe one year we can make it to the Festival in Texas (we live in Florida)
